Besides our commitment to bringing the best pizza in Colorado Springs to our community, we have a huge mission and one that fuels everything we do here at Slice420. When our daughter was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy in 2013, we set off on a path to create a better life for her through alternative medicine. But we know that we aren’t alone – there are many other American medical refugees who have struggled to find the care and support they need to deal with their health concerns, and we want to provide support and assistance so that everyone can experience the benefits of the alternative medicine that have made such an impact in our own daughter’s life. When we share the best New York style pizza in Colorado Springs with you, we’re also sharing our mission, and we want everyone to know that there are others who have endured the same struggles and found solutions to enrich their quality of life. Every slice that we sell contributes to this mission and helps to make a difference in someone’s life.
Who our Mission Supports:
Slice420 is putting our money where our mouth is. When we say “mission,” we are on a mission for change, a mission for the reduction of stigma, a mission for medical freedoms, and a mission of HOPE… in short, our mission is backed by action. Since September 2017 we have donated thousands of dollars to further our mission.
Beneficiaries include:
American Medical Refugees who receive a discount all day, every day at Slice420.
AMR families can receive through the AMR Foundation which was created for American Medical Refugees to communicate, share their stories, and progress information with other refugees as well as provide pertinent information that could aid the refugee or their family.
HopeKids:
HopeKids provides ongoing events, activities, and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition. We surround these remarkable children and their families with the message that hope can be powerful medicine.
The Shandy Clinic:
The Shandy Clinic offers exceptional therapy for exceptional children.
Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center:
Mt. Carmel Veterans Service provides transition and employment assistance, behavioral health and wellness, supportive services, connection to community resources, and safe event space for veterans, military members and their families
Flowering Hope Foundation (Sofia’s medicine):
The Flowering Hope Foundation’s goal is to facilitate safe access to life-changing medication to those that suffer from multiple ailments. We create opportunities for patients to receive a better quality of life, making it possible for parents and caregivers to have some peace of mind that their loved ones get the best chance at a successful future. We also strive to spread healthcare education to communities far and wide.
We also provide donations regularly to local businesses and individuals in need.
